The Texas Society of Medicine invites medical students, residents, and fellows to showcase their research, share innovative ideas, and connect with physicians from across Texas during the 2027 TSM Spring Clinical Meeting.

Whether presenting original research, exploring clinical challenges, or sharing new scientific discoveries, participants will have the opportunity to engage with experienced physicians, gain valuable presentation experience, and compete for recognition.

ABSTRACT AND POSTER COMPETITION AWARDS

TSM recognizes the continued pursuit of excellence with the following awards.

  • BEST CLINICAL PAPER AWARDS: First and second places to be awarded.
  • BEST SCIENTIFIC PAPER AWARDS: First and second places to be awarded.
  • MEDICAL STUDENT POSTER AWARDS: First and second places to be awarded.
  • TEXAS SOCIETY OF MEDICINE BOWL: This "traveling trophy" is awarded to the Highest Scoring Internal Medicine Residency Program. Scoring is weighted by the number of presenters from each program.

Residents, fellows, and medical students interested in participating in the TSM Abstract Competition are strongly encouraged to consult with their individual Program Directors prior to submitting an abstract.

Individual training programs and other professional organizations (including the American College of Physicians [ACP]) may have specific policies regarding prior abstract submissions, presentations, or participation in other competitions.

It is the applicant's responsibility to verify that participation in the TSM Abstract Competition will not conflict with their training program's requirements or affect eligibility for future presentations, publications, or competitions.
